For the dark...Hunc tu caveto

You only see what your eyes want to see.

How can life be what you want it to be?

You're frozen, when your heart's not open.

You're so consumed with how much you get.

You waste your time with hate and regret;

You're broken when your heart's not open.

... If I could melt your heart

... We'd never be apart

... Give yourself to me

... You hold the key

Now there's no point in placing the blame.

And you should know I suffer the same;

If I lose you, my heart will be broken.

Love is a bird, she needs to fly.

Let all the hurt inside of you die.

You're frozen when your heart's not open.

You only see what your eyes want to see

How can life be what you want it to be?

You're frozen when your heart's not open...

If I could melt your heart

My AOL blues...And I don't have AOL

My dad called me last week, frustrated, not knowing what to do about the two AOL's into his PC. He knows very little about a PC. So when he couldn't get one of the free starter AOL discs to work, he whipped out the Wal-Mart AOL promo disc, that he picked up at his local friendly Wal-Mart.

So I told him to give me the information and I would see what I could do. You see, I am generally the information gatherer, the insurance discusser, the phone negotiator for my parents, mainly for mom, for phone, but occasionally for dad too. I loathe the phone, just to note here, except my text messages, love those.

Dad does, though, call me sometimes daily for internet projects for me to do for him. I think he thinks I sit idly by, with my cell in my hand, waiting for him to call, with something for me to do.

So I call the first AOL and they put me on hold for awhile. I'm used to this, having called tech support on numerous occasions since buying my own pc almost 5 years ago. I finally get through and the person on the other end is obviously from India. Why are they all from India now? I love the clothes, love the jewelry, love the religions, but....but. I can't understand them, and we spend have the time repeating everything and asking, "What?!". *laughing*

Anyway, I give her the information, but wasn't sure which screen name to use, and she wouldn't tell me when I got one of them right. At least I got it. My dad is a horrible speller, and doesn't realize how specific pc people get, and how case sensitive things are in the pc world.

I told her right off the whole situation and how my dad is on the road and can't call and didn't know what to do anyway, and how the account needed to be cancelled. Well, she says, I think, "No, problem". And then proceeds to tell me the special she is giving me, and for several more months, he can get this and that and how I need to call before December 9th, to cancel the account, etc., etc..

I kept telling her I needed to cancel and she wants to know why. I told her it wouldn't connect, wouldn't work, and she says that I needed to call this OTHER department and I'm guaranteed a local access number. I ask, "Are you sure, because all the numbers are always long distance. They live out in the middle of nowhere, it's long distance.". "Oh yes, they will have a local number you can use and it won't be long distance..." and goes on and on, babbling incoherantly about how she is saving them money, even though it's a free offer. I don't really hear much after that, because I'm pissed that she just wouldn't listen to me. I know, from experience, that it's long distance.

It's too late to cut this story short, but I'm trying. Well, it's long distance, so I had to call her back! I had to explain the whole thing again and to try to cancel again. I had to explain why I wanted to cancel, and to give the information again, but to another person from India. I explained about it not working and they wanted me to get the access numbers, guaranteed to work. Finally, she listened and we were able to cancel, but I had to be ever so persistant about it.

I was told a long time ago, that AOL was crap. I've pretty much stuck with that. I also heard it's nearly impossible to get away from them and I found that out!

Ok, this was only the first part of the story. This was the regular AOL. Next, I had to cancel the free Wal-mart AOL account. Hell, I was exhausted after this, there was no way I could call the other right now. It is a completely different number...and besides, they were closed when I tried.
